Yayasan Empatiku Best Practice on Community Based Initiatives in PCVE

This module provides a comprehensive guide to community-based initiatives in Preventing and Countering Violent Extremism (PCVE), with a focus on best practices from Yayasan Empatiku in Indonesia. Since July 2017 Empatiku has been leading efforts to build community resilience in several places in Indonesia. This initiative focuses on empowering communities to develop local capacities to prevent violent extremism and applied empathy to support rehabilitation and reintegration.

These initiatives aim to protect communities from the spread of violent extremism ideologies, while also fostering greater social cohesion.

  • Identify early warning signs of radicalization and manage cases through community-led systems.
  • Apply principles of empathy in the rehabilitation and reintegration of individuals affected by violent extremism.
