Community-Based Initiatives on P/CVE in Southeast Asia

In addition to government initiatives, civil society organizations (CSOs) play a crucial role in P/CVE. These organizations often work on the ground, engaging directly with communities and individuals most at risk of radicalization. CSOs initiatives in Southeast Asia including effort to build resilience against violent extremism. These initiatives focus on empowering local communities to take an active role in preventing radicalization, detecting early signs of extremism, and assisting in the rehabilitation and reintegration of individuals affected by violent ideologies. Community-based approaches are especially effective because they leverage local knowledge, trust, and relationships to prevent violence at the grassroots level.
