Key Actors of CBEWS

To effectively function, CBEWS relies on the active collaboration of several key actors:

Slide 1

Community

The community plays the most crucial role in the CBEWS. They are the primary eyes and ears on the ground, identifying unusual behaviors, increasing local vigilance, and acting as the first line of defense. Communities are equipped with knowledge about recognizing early signs of extremism, such as shifts in attitude or actions among individuals. read more : raising community awareness

Government

The government provides the policy framework, resources, and coordination necessary for CBEWS to succeed. Effective policies and partnerships with local authorities allow the system to be proactive and responsive.

Civil Society Organizations (CSOs)

CSOs act as intermediaries, helping to facilitate community participation and enhance the capacity of communities. They provide education, training to raise awareness, and assist communities in developing the skills needed to monitor and report early signs of violent extremism.

Media

The media serves as a critical tool in disseminating information and raising public awareness about violent extremism. Responsible reporting and communication can help communities understand the risks and play a more active role in prevention.
