Objective
This e-Learning course will help you learn about how hate speech can lead to radicalisation and how challenging hate speech is a form of CVE. This e-Learning will introduce you to the Lexicon of Ethno-Religious Hate Speech using the case study of the Southern Thailand conflict to help you learn how to counter hate speech. This e-Learning is divided into two modules. The first module, Lexicon Robo, will help you identify the effects of hate speech. The second module, will introduce the 'Four Levels of Hate' framework to help you understand the different types of hate speech.
The learning outcomes of this e-Learning course are:
- Provide a framework for understanding hate speech as it applies to conflict in Southern Thailand.
- Create awareness of hate speech to instil respect and tolerance of people’s differences.
- Understand how language can deescalate hate and violence by providing alternatives to extremist language.
